# Upgrading Your ChatPress Plan

> Learn how to upgrade your ChatPress plan, how Paddle proration works, and what happens when you move to a higher-tier subscription.

## Overview

You can upgrade your ChatPress plan at any time — for example, from **Starter (\$19/mo)**.\
Your upgrade takes effect **immediately**, and access to your new plan’s features begins right away.

## How Upgrades Work

When you upgrade, ChatPress uses **Paddle’s proration system** to automatically calculate how much you owe for the remainder of your billing cycle.

You’re on the **Starter Plan (\$19/mo)** halfway through your billing cycle when you decide to upgrade to the **Growth Plan (\$49/mo).**

* Paddle credits you roughly **\$9.50** for the unused half of your Starter plan.
* You pay **\$39.50** for the remainder of the month.
* Your billing date resets to today’s date — future renewals will happen on this date.
